It’s our purpose and goal is to bring the uniquely creative storytelling of Children’s to the world through fun and engaging interactive media. We will welcome our visitors more warmly, entertain more creatively, help parents to more effectively and treat guests with the utmost respect. And we take the issue of privacy very seriously. We respect the privacy of children, and do not collect any more personal information than is reasonably necessary to enable them to participate in the activities we offer at our Web sites.
Be sure to ask your parents for permission before you send any information about yourself (your name, address, e-mail address, etc.) to us or anyone else over the Internet.
Parents and Guardians:
We encourage you to get involved with your children's online usage and to be aware of the activities in which they are participating. While we welcome all of our guests to enjoy the many features of our site, we encourage you to limit your children's time online. When used properly, the Internet can be entertaining and educational. But even we at Schools India realize that there is a lot more to a well-balanced life than penguins from outer space.
Information Collection Policies:
At our sites, we have a policy of collecting limited personally identifiable information. To enable children to participate in some of our online activities, we may ask them to provide us with their first name and e-mail address. Schools India will only use this information for internal purposes -- for fulfillment of a requested transaction or to respond to children’s specific requests to participate in activities, such as sending electronic greeting cards.
On some of the pages of our sites, such as where children can send electronic postcards or game links to their friends, we may ask your child to provide personal information about other people. This is usually limited to a first name and e-mail address. This personal information will be deleted from our records as soon as the e-mail card is sent. On some pages where newsletter or "member" signups are available, visitors are required to be 13 years old or older to sign up.
When you or your child visits our sites, we automatically collect certain non-personally identifiable information, such as the type of computer operating system (e.g., Windows 98 or MS-XP. and browser (e.g., Netscape or Internet Explorer) that you use, and the domain name of your Internet service provider (e.g., India Online, Earth link). (See "Cookies," below.) We use this information to improve the design and content of our site, and to enable us to personalize your Internet experience. We also may use this information in the aggregate to analyze site usage and to offer you products, programs or services.
We Do Not Share Personal Information:
We do not share any personal information with anyone other than those who provide support for the internal operations of the Web sites, and our agents (e.g., contractors who provide fulfillment services, such as credit card processing, product order processing, or technical support to the Web site). All such agents or contractors with whom we share information have agreed to maintain the security and integrity of personal information.
Schools India uses an order form for users to request products and order information. For that order form, we collect the user's name, e-mail address, and organization; billing address, phone number, Postal address, and necessary financial information to process the order (i.e. credit card number). The user is given the opportunity to have his address stored for his next purchase. Schools India uses a third party called Parable Interactive to accept and process orders for merchandise and products. In particular, Parable hosts the ordering system and order data. Parable automatically collects order information but may only use the information in the aggregate to process orders. Parable uses a standard and reliable encryption technology to protect any personal information as it travels across the Internet. Parable has also agreed to maintain the security and integrity of personal and credit card information.
We will disclose the information we maintain when required to do so by law -- for example, in response to a court order or subpoena. We may also disclose such information in response to a law enforcement agency's request.
If Schools India, or substantially all of its assets, are acquired, the information we collect may be one of the transferred assets. Any such transfer will be subject to applicable privacy laws.
We have in place appropriate safeguards to secure the very limited personal information we receive from our visitors for the limited time it is in our possession. We use industry standard security measures, such as SSL, to protect any sensitive information (such as credit card information) that you may provide to us to access some of our services.
Schools India generally avoids linking from our Web sites to other sites. Occasionally, some time, which is necessary for children’s for their Educational benefit, we also put up links to partner sites for a limited time in order to promote our contests and information. We require such partners not to use the information collected for any other purpose. We may also provide links to newsworthy information or articles about Schools India that may be of interest to Schools India.org Web site visitors (e.g. awards and award nominations, results garnered by Schools India video and theatrical releases, and published reviews of our products). Furthermore, we offer the visitor the option to view our video clips through third-party software. We do not make representations and warranties as to other sites' content or information collection policies.
This policy is reviewed periodically by Schools India and may be subject to change. Any changes will be posted here.
